Saint Philomena has become very popular in recent times because her grave was only discovered in the 19th Century, after being lost for centuries. It was found in the catacombs and contained some small bones and a vial of her blood, which had crystallized into a jewel-like form. Many miracles have occurred as a result of her intercession.

Apparently, she was courted by the Emperor Diocletian but she had vowed her virginity to Christ. In his rage, he had her brutally tortured and killed at age thirteen. Every image I have seen portrays her with black hair. The anchor is a symbol of faith and also part of her martyrdom, along with the arrows. I incorporated the martyr's palm into the background and dressed her in red for martyrs. She is patroness of infants, children, and youth. Her feast day is August 11.

The same image is on both sides. Please choose small, medium, or large size.

All of our pendants are made with lead free solder and glass. Great on a chain or bracelet. We offer a ball chain for elsewhere in my shop.

If you put the charm/medal on a key chain, it may get broken if not treated kindly. It is glass. If you want one for a key chain, We can custom make your medium charm/medal with a thicker glass for $2. Small charm/medals don't need thicker glass, but either way, they need to be on a chain before you add them to your key ring.

Jewelry orders are sent gift wrapped as shown, and Sue will include a holy card of her drawing of Pope Francis!
