This is Our Lady of Divine Grace, the same image as the one that hangs in St. Padre Pio's monastery at Pietrelcina, Italy. He said Mass before this image many, many times. St. Padre Pio was deeply devoted to Mary, and the Rosary was a powerful implement in his hands. He called it his “weapon” against evil. Part of his great holiness was his astonishing, total love and devotion to Mary.
There are many great quotes from St. Padre Pio on Mary. Here’s one of our favorites: “Always stay close to this Heavenly Mother, because she is the sea to be crossed to reach the shores of Eternal Splendor.”
