Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face
Exclusive photo restoration
This picture was taken by Thérèse's sister, Céline, on June 7, 1897 in the sacristy court yard of their convent at Lisieux. There were three poses; this photo is known to the archivists as Photo #43 of the 47 known photos of Thérèse. She is holding up her breviary, and the pictures illustrate the name for herself that she took at age 15: "Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face."
We restored this picture and inserted the original page of the Child Jesus from her breviary, which is archived separately, and an exact copy of the Holy Face (but without the words). The inscription on the Child Jesus image is quite legible now. Evidently Thérèse wrote it herself. It starts off, "I am the Jesus of Thérèse... If anyone is very small or he comes to me...", and the gist of it is, "If anyone is very small and comes to me, he shall not die."
Stay small, my friend. We hope that this restoration of our friend Thérèse helps you feel closer to her, to the point of friendship, and thus brings you closer to our greatest friend, Jesus. (source: www.archives-carmel-lisieux.fr)
!!!IMPORTANT !!! The image is smaller than the paper! We leave a white border of blank paper around the image! The border is about 0.5" for 5x7, 1.3" for 8.5x11 and about 1.6" on 11x14, and about 1.75 for 13x17 and larger.
-Acid-free paper. Image is smaller!!
-Cardboard backer. (Except for 13x17 and 16x20 which come rolled)
-Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag
-Comes with the above story of the image.
