Young Thérèse is so happy here. She's a novice with her sisters, devoted to her Jesus. The white veil indicates she has not yet made her final vows. This is one of our favorite pictures of our friend, and we have used contemporary methods to restore this picture to an extremely vivid and lifelike portrait. It's like meeting Thérèse. If you are like us, you will feel closer to her.
This picture was taken in January 1889, when Thérèse was 16, just a few days after she got to wear the habit. Every time we look at this picture, it makes us happy. Therese's expression is so happy! We think, yep, kid, you made it!
According to the Archives at Lisieux, this photo was taken by Fr. Gombault. Most of the photos we have of Therese were taken by her sister Celine once she was in the Carmel with Therese. The Carmelites allow personal pursuits, like photography, which is why we have so many pictures of our favorite Saint. At least one of our favorites! We hope to restore them all!
-Archival-quality print. Printed with archival pigments designed to last for generations when kept dry and out of the direct sun.
!!!IMPORTANT !!! The Image is smaller than the paper! There is a blank white margin around the paper, 1/2" for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", and 1.6" for 11x14". This border lets our pictures look good framed without a matt.
-Acid-free paper. Image is smaller than paper!!
-Cardboard backer.
-Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag
-Comes with the above story of the image.
Standard size. We think it looks best in a black frame, but any of the frames could work, depending on your decor.
