There is something about this image that touches our hearts. The reverence of the angel presenting the Bread of Angels to Mary. Her delicate contemplation of it. We love the mood of this piece and the setting. We were briefly tempted to sharpen this picture and add contrast to it. But why? The original artist could have done all that. This is a beautiful, dreamy meditation.

And it has a beautiful, dreamy inscription. “Vierge Sainte, rendez-nous dignes de ce Mystere ineffable. Mettez la purete dans nos ames, metiez des flammes dans notre Coeur,” means in English, “Holy Virgin, make us worthy of this ineffable Mystery. Put purity in our souls, put flames in our heart.”
