Vintage Image Immaculate Heart of Mary Pendant
This option is currently sold out.
This tiny framed print comes in three sizes and looks beautiful on a ribbon or chain. Â
We find this a dear and delicate image, its style in harmony with its subject, the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In Victorian holy cards, the dove, while often the Holy Spirit, is just as often a symbol for the viewer, the Christian faithful. So there we are, nestled close to our Mother.
For this old and long out-of-copyright card, we removed the staining and the yellowing of the background, keeping just a bit of the beige to preserve the look of the original paper texture and its antique flavor. We cropped this for modern tastes, featuring Mary’s heart. The original had lots of elaborate, die-cut paper doily fru fru around it, which was a technology they were perfecting, but it doesn’t translate too well into art prints. Also, the Victorian aesthetic can look cluttered to us and, at least by modern tastes, distracts from the central subject.
One of our most popular images, prints of this image are also available in this shop.
The same image is on both sides.
All of our pendants and ornaments are made with lead free solder and glass. Great on a chain or bracelet. We offer a ball chain elsewhere in our shop.Â
If you put the charm/medal on a key chain, it may get broken if not treated kindly. It is glass. If you want one for a key chain, we can custom make your medium charm/medal with a thicker glass for $3. Small charm/medals don't need thicker glass, but either way, they need to be on a chain before you add them to your key ring.Â
