"Am I not here who am your mother? Do I not hold you in the crossing of my arms?" -The Virgin Mary to St Juan Diego in 1531.

Our Lady of Guadalupe postcard is framed in a subtly ornate brown frame with easel back. Perfect gift for anyone who has a devotion to her, and likes more contempory approaches to painting! Looks sweet on a side table or in a home shrine.

The image of Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared miraculously on the cloak of Juan Diego, a simple indigenous peasant, on the hill of Tepeyac near Mexico City on December 12, 1531. Today it is displayed in the Basilica of Guadalupe nearby, the most visited Catholic shrine in the world. Pope John Paul II declared her patroness of the Americas.

She  painted this version in acrylics and colored pencil on paper. The original was approximately 7 x 11 inches.
