We love the exquisite Loreto Embroidery series! They are among the most beautiful and most popular Catholic art prints in our shop! If you love them like we do, we now offer a chance for you to own them at a big savings. Acquire 8, 9, 10, or 11 in this package, framed or unframed. To order less than 11, which is all of them, just tell us which ones you don't want. That will be the hard part!

The series comes from the early 1900s. The style is Art Nouveau, which we love. The artist is Ezio Anichin, who in 1912 released drawings of 46 of the Litany of Loreto titles, which at the time were all of them. Anichini's art is precise yet romantic, and emotionally engaging.

The Litany of Loreto dates back to the Middle Ages and now includes over 50 titles of Mary, all having to do Mary's relationship to us and to God.

It is not known who did the stitching. The embroideries were a gift to an elderly nun, who sent them to the SHCJ Mayfield Convent in Surrey, England, for safekeeping during World War II. They are now held by the Royal School of Needlework in London, regarded as masterpieces of beauty, design, and execution.

Original worked mostly in long and short stitch on a rich cream satin background in shades of beige, fawn, and brown silks, as well as white, warmed and enriched with gold threads.

We spent an awful lot of time restoring the flawed photographs of these images to bring out the richness of the colors and the precision of the needlework. We look forward to the time when the Royal School of Needlework, who hold and preserve these masterpieces, release perfect photographs of them to a grateful world. The best work of everyone is done when it is done for the Glory of God. Until that time, the restoration work we have performed, not the imperfect source photographs, is copyrighted under U.S. copyright law.

Unframed set includes these things:
- 8.5 x 11" acid-free paper
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.

** IMPORTANT ** There is about an inch-and-a-third of white space around the picture, so the image is smaller than the paper.

Thanks for your interest!

Thanks!
