The thing about this darling little girl, Jacinta, that we always notice in the few photographs there are of her is that she looks at the camera with skepticism, almost scowling. No wonder, as she was treated so badly by the authorities and other adults for a long period of time simply because she was telling the truth of what happened to her and who she saw.
The other thing that we see in her eyes is an unflinching steadfastness. She has seen the Mother of God. Of whom should she be afraid? The look is piercing, profound. In this exclusive AI-restored photograph, you can see her in ways not possible before.
Mama’s got her all scrubbed up and in her best clothing. She’s even got a safety pin to hold the outfit together! The skirt next to her is Lucia’s. By the look of things, this picture was taken after her trials and at a time of general acceptance of the apparitions. Jacinta is 7, perhaps 8 in this photograph. She would die at age 9 from the Flu Pandemic which had started in 1918.
See our other exclusive restored photos of the Fatima Children and other Catholic Saints here at our store. We hope they bring you closer to the Saint, and thus closer to Jesus.
