Saint Thérèse with Nuns at Carmel

In this exclusive restored photograph, Thérèse is with the white-veiled novices whom she is in charge of, including her sister Celine. In the window behind them, with the statue of the Infant Jesus of Prague, are two Reverend Mothers of the Carmel, her sister Pauline and Marie de Gonzague. They are in the inner courtyard at the convent in Lisieux. It is the Monday after Easter, April 15th, 1895. Céline has taken this photograph, and we suspect she has also placed the hour glass prop in Therese's hands, as well arranging the figures before she fired off the timer and jumped in the picture.

We have restored this photo to a vividness that we hope lets you feel more connected with our dear Saint and her saintly sisters, spiritual as well as blood. There was an immense amount of love among them, as there is with all who are in Heaven.

** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It also gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt.
