S. Petrus (St. Peter)
Print of an Antique Holy Card – Anonymous Artist
This beautiful holy card was made in the late Victorian or early Edwardian Age. By its style, we believe it’s German, but there is no marking on the card, front or back. St. Peter has the Keys of the Kingdom, and he’s pointing to it, to remind us of Papal authority. Note the road, which is the journey of his Apostolate. The two men in the boat are fishermen, and that’s the road from whence he came. He has gone uphill --gone higher.
Looks great in a den or office, or near some wainscoting or wooden shelves, or anywhere you’d like a reminder of the presence and care of all three members of the Holy Family.
– 8.5 x 11" acid-free paper
– Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
– Cardboard backer
– Above story of the art
– Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
** IMPORTANT ** There is about an inch-and-a-third of white space around the picture, so the image is smaller than the paper.
