Archangel Michael –8.5x11" Print

The beautiful colors! That’s what caught our eye on this stained glass window of the Archangel Michael. Angels are often portrayed brightly colored, especially their wings. This is one of the more brilliantly colored examples we have seen. We love the colored vestments he has! We enjoy looking at this picture.

We believe this is an American stained glass from 1908. The style is straightforward. Michael looks gentle but strong. He is usually shown with a sword, but a shield is also an armament. Instead of being in action fighting the devil, as he is normally depicted, Michael is here in church with us, calmly standing guard.
