I love the expression in this close-up of St. Therese of Lisieux. It’s taken in the convent right after performing her play about Joan of Arc. I think she looks dreamy and gentle and other-worldly.
We’ve added a touch of color for warmth while still preserving the sepia, antique quality. As it’s from a photo well over a hundred year’s old, this close-up doesn’t have the detail found with a modern camera, but that softness looks good in a small 8.5x11" print where the image is only about 5x7".
By the way, that hair is not hers; it’s a wig she wore over her habit as part of her costume.
