Rembrandt was the famous "artist of light," who illuminated many subjects, including Jesus and the saints. This face of Christ, the Light of the World, was one of several that Rembrandt did that looked similar. This particular one is called the Philadelphia panel and is our favorite of the group. Purportedly, this was the one that Rembrandt kept in his bedroom the last years of his life. Painted around 1650, it resides in the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

We have done some restoration to the print, which had several long lines where the paint had been lost which looked like creased canvas folds, but we have left a number of the little chips and flakes to retain that period look.

8.5 x 11 acid-free paper with archival ink. The print will last for generations when kept out of the direct sun. There is about an inch-and-a-third of white space around the picture. Cardboard backer. Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
IMPORTANT!!! The image is smaller than the paper.

Standard size. If you would like to add a frame, please select one above, under "Framing".
