The Infant of Prague
Vintage Catholic Holy Card
This endearing version of the Infant of Prague is the most unique one we’ve ever seen. We’ve always had a soft spot for the Infant of Prague, especially when our kids were little and we had so many bills to pay. Usually the image of Him is the triangle-shaped doll-king. Always red, always holding an orb of the world in his left hand, always blessing the world with his right hand. But this lovely representation from the turn-of-the-last-century has a gentleness and sweetness to it that we are particularly fond of.
Many cultures have images of the Child Jesus as objects of devotion. Teresa of Avilla always made sure they had a statue of the Infant of Prague in her convent, especially in times of financial need. Often there is a maxim on the infant, “The more you honor Me, the more I will bless you.” It is a good reminder of how we are to seek the Lord—not to be paid by Him—but for His own sake. And we are to trust Him, and trust in His Providence. Turn to the Lord with all your heart and the blessings will flow.
8.5 x 11 or 11 x 14 acid-free paper with archival ink. The print will last for generations when kept out of the direct sun. There is about an inch-and-a-third of white space around the picture. Cardboard backer. Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
IMPORTANT!!! The image is smaller than the paper.
If you would like us to frame it for you, please select which frame you would like under "Size & Framing". We offer a variety of frames. We think this print looks especially nice in a black frame.
