She was part of the Passionist religious order, and was a mystic who suffered deeply in union with Christ. Her mother died when she was young, as did some of her siblings. She had conversations with her guardian angel, Jesus, the Virgin Mary, and other saints--especially Saint Gabriel of Our Lady of Sorrows. She had a remarkable life, even though it was not a long one. She died in Lucca, Italy on Holy Saturday, April 11, 1903, at the age of 25 and was canonized in 1940. Her feast day is April 11.
