This beautiful old hard card was origainlly published by published by Louis Turgis of Paris, one of the great holy card publishers of the 19th Century. It is a richly colored and respectful card.
The prayer on th back is ancient, perhaps a thousand years old or more. It is a good prayer for funerals, or said anytime for the dead.
It is good to pray for the dead. We can help holy souls in Purgatory suffer less. Praying for the dead has always been a Catholic practice. For example, in 2 Timothy 1:18, St. Paul prays for Onesiphorus, who has died.
As with this and all of our images, you may have a custom holy card made with a personalized back printed for you. For funerals, it is hard sometimes to get them to you in time.
