Blessed Conchita, full name María Concepción Cabrera de Armida (1862-1937), was a Mexican wife and mother of nine children. She was a mystic and author. According to Cardinal Raniero Cantalamessa, preacher of the Papal Household, Conchita experienced a "mystical life...comparable to that of St. Teresa of Ávila."
Blessed Conchita was a mystical writer who published an astounding forty-six books and sixty-six diary volumes. If that wasn't enough, she also founded two religious communities, one for women and one for men. She did all of this while raising her nine children!
She had numerous mystical encounters with Christ, and was involved with a miraculous physical healing of a young father with a mysterious debilitating illness. Blessed Conchita helped inflame the faithful and hearten them in the cause of Christ. She was beatified in Mexico City on May 4, 2019, the first Mexican laywoman to be so recognized.
