Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati
Exclusive Restored Photograph

Handsome and athletic, Pier Giorgio Frassati (1901-1925) was from his childhood dedicated to God. From a wealthy family, he was an ardent supporter of the poor, often seeking gifts he has received saga giving the proceeds to them. Although he only lived twenty-four years, he performed many good works in his home of Turin, Italy. So much so that at his funeral, his family was greatly surprised when thousands of poor people came to pay their respects. He helped many people in his short life, gave a lot of love, and many loved him in return. Truly a great example of the love of God.

This picture made us happy because it shows his love of the outdoors, and how fresh he was in his strength. This is from some ski race he was in. He spent a lot of time in the mountains with friends, skiing and rock climbing. One day in late June 1925, he was struck with pain and great fatigue while in the mountains. His friends helped him back to his home. It was polio, a severe case, and within a week he had passed away.

The people in Turin urged for his cause as a Saint. Rome took up the cause and investigated. When his remains were moved to the Turin Cathedral in 1981, they were found to be incorrupt. A miracle cure of someone who was praying to him helped St. Pope John Paul II declare him Blessed in 1990, calling Pier the "Man of the Eight Beatitudes." His Feast Day is July 4, an easy date for us to remember. Clearly on his way to Sainthood, he is a Patron of Students and Young Catholics, as well as mountaineers. (source:

We are glad to offer this vivid restoration of Pier's photo. We hope that it helps you be closer to him, and thus closer to our Lord Jesus.

We have edited out the tobacco of the original photo because John's mom died of tobacco, and we didn't want to make smoking seem Saintly. However, we have had requests from people asking for that cigar back in, so it is available upon request. Put a request for cigar in ALL CAPS in your order, and we'll get it out to you.

!!!IMPORTANT !!! The Image is smaller than the paper! There is a blank white margin around the paper, 1/2" for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", and 1.6" for 11x14". This border lets our pictures look good framed without a matt.

- Acid-free paper
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.

** IMPORTANT ** There is about an inch-and-a-third to one-and-a-half inch of white space around the picture, so the image is smaller than the paper.

Thanks for your interest!
