This vivid and dramatic picture really put us in the waves with Peter! We usually don't offer engravings or black and white lithographs because we love colors, but we love how this scene is done! Jesus's feet look like they are standing on concrete. Peter is us when we lose our nerve, our trust in our Lord. And yet he is there for us to turn to! Even we of little faith! Peter called out to Jesus, "lord, save me!" and Jesus did. This classical illustration can help us remember that fear is useless, what is needed is trust. The Lord is there even when our faith is weak. Trust Him.

Bouasse-Lebel is our favorite holy card publisher. It was started in 1845 by a faithful Catholic woman, Mrs. Eulalie Bouasse, nee Lebel (1809-1898) when her husband had run out on her and she needed to support her two boys. She had grown up with her family's printing business, so she knew how to do it. It was very successful, and she turned the business over to the boys as they matured.
