The verse on this lovely Italian Art Nouveau piece is from John (San Giovanni), 11:25-26. “I am the resurrection and the life; whoever believes in me …will never die.” The Resurrection beginss his triumph, and the Ascension marks the end of his ministry here on earth. If we believe in him and follow him, we follow him into everlasting life.

After his death on the cross, Jesus rose from the dead. He did it under his own divine power (e.g., "No one takes my life from me, but I lay it down of my own accord, that I may take it up again." John 10:18). Then he went about the world with his glorified body, his new life, and when he was finished with those teachings, he ascended into Heaven, also under his own divine power.

The vintage Italian holy card was one in an Art Nouveau series, (Called Stile Liberty in Italian, or Stile Floreale for it’s pretty filigrees of flowers and other organic shapes.) We carry one other card right now and hope to add more. It's a beautiful painting in one of our favorite styles, and the card was well-made. By the style of art and printing, we think it was done about 1905. We’re just guessing, but the filigree looks pretty sturdy and strong, and the earlier versions could look wan and dreamy.

** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a blank border around the image. Approximately 0.5" wide for 5x7, 1.3" for 8.5x11, 1.6" for 11x14, and 1.75" for 13x17 and 16x20. For the two poster sizes, 18x24 and 24x36, we use 0.5" borders. We do this because the ratio of the rectangle of the art almost never matches the rectangle of the paper, and if it did happen to match one size, it would not match the others. Most fine art printers do this because otherwise they’d have to crop the art or warp it to make it fit the paper. The border looks good. It gives the picture a faux matted appearance.

There is almost always a little more border either on the left-right sides, or the top-bottom, depending on whether the ratio of the art is wider or taller than the paper.

We make Archival Quality fine art prints:

– Cardboard backer for sizes 11x14 and less.

– Above story of the art

– Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal-clear bag.
