Vintage French Holy Card - Anonymous Artist
Perseverance. It is a virtue. It means to persist at something, especially when the goal is far away. At the top of this card it says, "What Mary wants from me is". At the bottom of the card it says in big letters "Perseverance". Below that it says, "To persevere as a Christian is to practice without interruption and until death the law of the Lord."
It's great to remember that our virtues are gifts from God. But we help out! We respond to the promptings of His Spirit. To be mindful of the need to persevere in the ways of God, to practice the presence of God, and to dwell on his law, that is the path to Heaven and the way for our minds to be at peace. Let us Persevere!
Bouasse Jeune is one of our favorite vintage publishers of holy cards. They did several virtues in this series, of which we offer three. Simplicity, Candor, and Perseverance.
** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It also gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt.

- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
