St. Mary of the Sacred Heart
Mediatrix of Grace

This vintage holy card from 1867 addresses Mary as "St. Mary of the Sacred Heart," and the short prayer underneath says, "Through your hands, O, Holy Mother, we are flooded by Jesus' grace."

This lovely French card is not only beautiful but also instructive. It illustrates Mary receiving grace from Jesus and pouring it upon us. Some say that Mary as Mediatrix brings all grace to the world, and others say she only brings some. But either way, whatever she has, it all comes from her Son, our Lord Jesus.

The Bouasse-Lebel Printing Company was started by Mrs. Eulalie (Lebel) Bouasse in 1845 in Paris, France, and specialized in Catholic Holy Cards. They were in business for 120 years. We think this holy card was a hand painted engraving just before the widespread use of lithographs.

Image is smaller than the paper!! See below!

** IMPORTANT ** THE IMAGE IS SMALLER THAN THE PAPER! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11", or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. All Approx! Fine art printers do this because the images are almost never the same rectangular ratio of the standard paper sizes. It also gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in a frame without a matt.

- Acid-free paper
- Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
- Cardboard backer
- Above story of the art
- Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
