A charming child Jesus reclines on the manger straw in this 19th Century French holy card. He's welcoming us into his world. This image was used previously in an earlier holy card. The deep brown wooden panel on this card looked manly to us, and it made us think of St. Francis of Assisi. The prayer on the back is his, from his "Office of the Passion of the Lord," a devotional Office written by St. Francis of Assisi himself. (source: www.monasterygreetings.com, who sell copies of it.) That it sounds just like Scripture is because that's how our holy Saint thought! We saw a recent movie about Francis where people complained that his rule of office for the Brothers was just Scripture quotes. :)!!

Our restoration of this holy card is one of our series of Christmas Holy cards. We've restored these beautiful old cards as a little way to help strengthen people's spiritual lives and make our Christmas celebrations holier.
