We were thrilled to discover this Sacred Heart card. I spend many hours every week looking for “new” Catholic art, and as soon as I saw this one, I loved it. An American card from 1886, with an “Exact Copy” of then Blessed, now Saint, Margaret Mary Alacoque’s Sacred Heart painting. This comes to her from a vision she had of Jesus Christ.

She sent it to a monastery, along with her Consecration to the Sacred Heart, which I put a selection from on the back. Seriously, pictures like this thrill me. Margaret Mary was the person who promoted the devotion to the Sacred Heart in its modern form, which is the internal life of Jesus he invites us to share. What an awesome invitation he gives us!
