Halloween Blessings! On the front of this holy card, we have two dear children smiling behind a giant pumpkin. They know Halloween is a special night, and they’re excited for the fun and candy that’s coming.
We want to help them know it’s also a holy night, the night before All Hallows’ Eve, which is usually called All Saints’ Day. On the back we have blessings for the treats—like grace for candy! And we have a blessing for the children. Candy and parties aren’t stolen pleasures, they’re gifts from our great and loving God!
We made four Halloween cards for children and four more for older children and adults. Search our shop for “Halloween”. We’re hoping we can have a little influence on making Halloween holy again. Let's plant some seeds!
Besides a handout from your front door, these are also great handouts for "Trunk or Treats," for Catholic schools, and for CCD classes. Kids LOVE holy cards. This little card will help spread the word that Halloween is a celebration of good, holy people, not bad things!
The image on the front is by Ellen Clapsaddle (1865-1934), an American artist and illustrator who made around 3000 postcards during the postcard craze of the decades before and after the turn of the century. A majority of them were Halloween-themed. She usually did children and jack-o'-lanterns. To us, the girl on the front looks like she’s wearing a veil, and the boy is in a cute little suit.
This is just a fun, wholesome little thing we can do to help take back Halloween for the kingdom of Christ! May it please the Lord!
