Halloween comes at harvest time. As it says on the back of this charming 1908 Tuck postcard, it has long been associated with the harvest, a time when people celebrated that God had given them enough food to last through winter. So much food, they could carve faces into some of it!

Besides the bit of history we tuck on the back of this card about Jack-o'-Lanterns and All Saints' Day, we also have a nice prayer in thanksgiving for the harvest and for how God provides for us.

We think it’s a sweet card and a wholesome way to help children know that Halloween at its heart is a holy time, not a time for witches and ghosts.

The hope is that the Lord will let us push back on the dark forces and retake the holy eve of His Saints from all the wickedness and confusion it languishes in now.
