Have a Holy Halloween! We're excited to be able to offer a beautiful Halloween Holy card! A lot of people in the world don't know it, but Halloween is a holy time. It's a been a Christian holy day for at least 1400 years. It used to be called All Hallows' Eve, the night before All Hallows' Day, like Christmas Eve is the night before Christmas Day. Hallow means 'holy," and All Hallows' Day, now called All Saint's Day, is the day we celebrate all the holy dead who are in Heaven.
This darling image comes from a more innocent time than we live in now, around 1900, but it's an innocence we can get back to, good Lord willing. We made this attractive card to give to children with their candy. It has a little smidge of catechism on the back, along with a simple prayer. We can all do our bit, if it please the Lord, to bring the holiday back to Him!
Besides a handout from your front door, this is also a great handout for "Trunk or Treats," for Catholic schools, and for CCD classes. Kids LOVE holy cards. This little card will help spread the word that Halloween is a celebration of good, holy people, not bad things!
We have four cards in the Halloween series that are for little kids. Search our shop for “Halloween”. We also have four more cards for older children and adults that deal with Halloween themes, as well as some All Souls' Day and memorial cards that are part of this holiday season. Let's go plant some seeds!
