The Prayer to Our Lady asks Mary to align us with the will of her Son, and asks her to be our spiritual mother. It is a traditional Catholic prayer used by people seeking to discern their vocation. As such, while this is a good prayer for everyone, it is especailly good for young people seeking their way in life.

The exquisite painting was done by an unknown master in Cologne, Germany, sometime around 1450. It is called Madonna on a Crescent Moon in Hortus Conclusus. The phrase Hortus Conclusus is Latin, meaning literally "enclosed garden." At their root, both words in hortus conclusus signify enclosure. The term was used to refer to the Virgin Mary in Medieval and Renaissance poetry and art, both as a title and a description of her. It was used widely in paintings and illuminated manuscripts starting about 1330.
