This Dominican nun has paused in her violin playing and is looking up to God, trying to catch that whisp of an idea that floated down to her. God’s voice is subtle. He treats us with enormous gentleness. If we pursue God, if we listen closely to him, we can find inspiration guiding us, not just in our pursuit of beautiful art, but in the other pursuits of our lives, in our circumstances and how we react to them, in the fashioning of our lives as a whole. Inspire means “With Spirit,” and inspiration is the beautiful, subtle wooing of our hearts by the one who made us and loves us and wants to win us over to be his eternal friend and companion.
Filadelfo Simi (1849–1923) was a professional artist from Italy. He painted mostly people and occasionally landscapes. He was very good with gesture and expression. He has many paintings on the internet, and they come up for auction often. Suora Con Viollino. Oil on canvas. 37x30 cm.
** IMPORTANT ** The image is smaller than the paper! There is a white border of about 0.5" inch for 5x7", 1.3" for 8.5x11, or 1.6" for 11x14" pictures. The border gives the prints a finished look, and lets them look good in frames without using a matt.
– Acid-free paper
– Archival pigments, rated to last for generations.
– Cardboard backer
– Above story of the art
– Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal clear bag.
Thanks for your interest!
Thanks!
