We’ve all had the little fear, that little bump in the night. This card shows that fear, and gives a prayer on the back by St. Teresa of Avila against fear, as well as two consoling Bible quotes to give you, or anyone you give this card to, courage.

We thought it might be especially useful at Halloween, given all the spooky things going on that are meant to “spook” people. Especially children and young people, but honestly, any grown-up who is feeling fear or even anxiety, the wisdom on this card will help soothe.

Robert William Buss (1804–1875) was a popular British artist and illustrator, especially known for his engravings of Charles Dickens novels. He did this picture as an engraving in 1874, and someone else colorized it.
