On the back is a traditional Catholic prayer for vocations which you can pray by yourself or involve some prayer warriors in your parish. It will help young men hear the call of God instead of the noise of the world.
The art comes from Brother Max Schmalzl (1850–1930), one of our all-time favorite Catholic artists. He was from the Nazarene School, who wanted a return to faith in art. Schmalzl was the epitome of that movement: a humble and industrious artist-monk. He had a huge output of art in his day, all Catholic. He was very famous. Not much use of his art is left except for some of the timeless masterpieces like his Roman Missal art, like this one and some others we carry in our shop, in addition to a lot of black and white pieces that are still ubiquitous in Catholic clip art, all anonymous.
Peace be with you. Thank you for your interest.

Our mission, the main reason Sue and I don't retire, is because we don't believe God put us here to retire. We believe He wants us to "Strengthen the faithful and evangelize with Beauty."
