St Anne, Grandmother of the Church – Intercession Prayer – Restored Vintage Holy Card – pack of 10/100/1000 #002

This dear picture of St. Anne reminds us of her closeness within the extended holy family. It was painted by Josef Wahl (1875-1951) around 1925. He was a go-to Catholic artist from Dusseldorf who did a huge amount of Catholic art in churches and with publishers in that area of Germany. We have seen this image as a holy card from that time.

Because St. Anne was Mary's beloved mother, and Jesus's beloved grandmother, she is close to them still, and can convey our special intentions to them. We have included a tradtional prayer to St. Anne on the back which enlists her aid. St. Anne, Pray for us!

Sue and John

Good St. Anne,
you were especially favored by God
to be the mother
of the most holy Virgin Mary
and the grandmother
of our Lord Jesus Christ.
By your power with your most
pure daughter and with her divine Son,
kindly obtain for us the grace
of the favor we now seek.
Please also secure for us
the forgiveness of our past sins,
the help our family needs to persevere
in the love of Jesus and Mary,
and for us all someday to be
with them and you and all the saints.
Amen.
