New! St. Francis Xavier – pack of 10/100/1000 – Vintage Holy Card #216

Saint Francis Xavier was a great missionary priest, and his prayer on the back for converts has some startling thoughts he is using with God. This prayer reflects the great zeal he had for spreading the Gospel to nations where no Christian missionary had ventured before. St. Francis Xavier cofounded the Society of Jesus with St. Ignatius of Loyola in 1540, and became the first missionary in many countries in Asia. Born in Navarre, (in what is now modern-day Spain) Francis Xavier dedicated his life in the priesthood to evangelizing, winning many souls for Christ in India, China, and Japan. The art on the front of this card is by Bouasse-Lebel, a 19th-century printing company that operated out of Paris, hence the French spelling of his name.
