IThe Crucifixion is the central event of Christianity. Motivated by love, that's what saved us. The perfect sacrifice to atone for our sins and remove the punishment of death which had befallen human beings since Adam and Eve. He creates a new heart in us, and brings us, through his suffering and death, to a new and resurrected life.

This 19th Century Italian lithograph is in the Italian version of Art Nouveau, called Stile Liberty, and gives the theme that only the beauty of that style could, with its elegant filigree transformed into a likeness of the thorns of the crown. We spent the better part of two days fussing with this restoration to make it as clean and beautiful as we could. It is a message of faith to us from a more faithful age, about 140 years ago.

The Italian on the front means, "The Crucifixion of Our Lord Jesus Christ." We expect to have this as an actual restored holy card soon.

On the back is a traditional Catholic prayer to the Crucified Christ.
