Therese of Lisieux of the Child Jesus Art Print
Therese of Lisieux of the Child Jesus Art Print
This painting was done with reference to a photo of a fairly recent saint, well-loved by many in the Catholic Church, Saint Theresa of Lisieux, or "The Little Flower." She lived and died at the end of the nineteenth century as a girl, really. She was only 24 when she died, as a Carmelite nun. During her last illness she was ordered to write her story, which she called The Story of a Soul. It spells out her simple spirituality, the way of littleness, or spiritual childhood. That is why Sue wanted to portray her as a child.
IMPORTANT: Each of the 3 sizes indicates outside dimensions. There is a border of white left around the image, approximately 1 1/2" to 2" all around.
